Membership of the Wine Discovery Club brings you a varied selection of high quality wines every quarter, wines that have been hand-picked by The Wine Company's experienced buying team for their value, authenticity and sheer drinkability. The Wine Discovery Club is the most straightforward club on the market, yet it offers as much flexibility as you want so that you remain in control of your wine cellar, and your wine budget, at all times.

The thrill factor

The mission of the Wine Discovery Club is to provide a convenient supply of good value drinking wines from around the world. But we want to share with you our passion for quality and our excitement in discovering new talents and wine styles. We will aim to thrill you as much as to assure you by including carefully crafted wines from off the beaten track alongside well-seasoned names from established cellars.

Keeping it simple

As a member you can simply sit back to receive a regular supply of new and interesting wines, wines that will add exciting dimensions to your education and enjoyment.

At the heart of the Club is the quarterly Club Selection, a case of different bottles to reflect the wonderful diversity of styles, origins, grape varieties and flavours that brings such excitement to the world of wine. The Club Selection is our 'default option', a case chosen to meet a wide variety of tastes.

Simply complete the application form and we will do the rest, allowing you to enjoy good wines on a regular basis. Every quarter we will provide details of the wines in the Club Selection. The brief given to our buyers is to find wines of distinction, value and style, made by dedicated producers - the sort of wines we ourselves drink at home. Each Selection contains twelve different bottles comprising both red and white, with the occasional rosé, sparkling or sweeter wine too; wines which reflect current trends and classic styles, and which are right for the season ahead. And every bottle will be new to you: we guarantee that no wine will be repeated in the programme*. The retail price of a typical Club wine is between £9 and £14. All this from just £35 a month.

* We may introduce new vintages of club favourites from time to time where we believe the quality merits inclusion, but only after a minimum of twelve months has elapsed.

...or for those with definite preferences, we can offer a unique set of choice options.
In each Club Selection six wines will be marked with the ♥ symbol. These form the heart of the selection and will be included in every Club delivery. But you can request a themed selection for the other six wines, a theme that you can change at will, and all for the same fixed monthly cost*. Each quarter you can choose from:

• More New World Wines
  Six additional bottles (three pairs), from producers of note in Australia, New Zealand, the Americas and South Africa.
• More European Styles
  Six additional bottles (three pairs) from classic and emerging European producers and regions.
• More Red Wines
  Six additional bottles (three pairs) to make a case that is mainly red
• More White Wines
  Six additional bottles (three pairs) to make a case that is mainly white
• More Style*
  Six additional wines from impeccable sources in classic wine regions, mainly European but with components from the best of the New World. Available in three formats - fully mixed, mainly red or mainly white.

*A supplementary charge applies to the More Style option.

Total flexibility ensures you receive only the wines you want

You can vary your current delivery whenever you want, by means of an email or telephone call. It's as simple as that. Alternatively, if we don't hear from you we will send the case(s) you have asked to receive - without your having to lift a finger.

A new window on the world of wine - for only £35 a month*

If you enjoy wine on a regular monthly basis it makes financial sense to spread the cost of your quarterly deliveries by means of a fixed subscription paid each month just like your gas or telephone bill. Payment for your Wine Discovery Club cases is by direct debit from a bank account or by credit card mandate. Each quarterly case is worth at least £120 including carriage (2010 prices) but you pay only £105 (three monthly payments of £35) for your quarterly delivery of wine enjoyment*.

*The More Style option, including even better wines, carries a supplement of £14 per month.

It's your choice...

You can pay by credit card mandate if you prefer, authorising us to charge the fixed sum each month. Either way the cost of your quarterly case is spread over the quarter, handy for household budgets. You will receive your first wine delivery on receipt of a first payment of £70**, saving at least £50 on your first delivery. Your next quarterly delivery will then take place after 3 monthly payments have been made, and every subsequent quarter until further notice.

**£98 for More Style.

No joining fee, and no Commitment to membership

There is no membership or administration fee, and your subscription is devoted 100% to the wines you choose to receive. You can remain a member for as long as you like - we are still supplying quarterly cases to members who joined a decade ago! – and you can withdraw from the programme at any time. The Wine Discovery Club works for your benefit, wine education and enjoyment.

Cellar notes for each wine - online

Background notes, producer references and food and wine pairings for every wine included in the Programme will be posted on-line to avoid unnecessary printing, paper or packaging. Cellar notes include comment on the producer, the region and vintage and on food and wine matching to provide a comprehensive library of information for Wine Discovery Club members. These details, together with label images, maps and weblinks will be filed as 'pdfs' for easy access, quick reference, downloading or printing.
