Country Information - England

Small batches of quality wines are produced in England and are being drunk all over the country and quite often beating their international counterparts at wine competitions across Europe.

Fantastic sparkling wines such as Nyetimber are produced on soils very similar to that of the Champagne region. Some superb whites are also made, mainly from Germanic varietals, one of which is the Bacchus grape.

New Hall vineyards, based near Maldon, Essex are producing some fantastic everyday-drinking wines, most notably their late harvested Bacchus which offers ripe stone fruits and elderflower on the palate - great value!
