Wine Shop & Cellars

Our retail premises at Gosbecks Park, Colchester is arguably the greatest wine shop in the country. Customers are more than welcome to visit and browse our portfolio of over 1000 wines which are on display and available to buy by the bottle. In addition our knowledgeable, friendly and highly trained staff are on hand to provide expert advice on every day wines as well as many of the greatest wines of the world. We firmly believe in trying before you buy and there is always a large selection of wines open and ready for you to taste. Wines are our speciality, but we also have a good range of whiskies and other spirts as well as wine accessories and Riedel glassware available.

The shop is conveniently laid out by region and country with clear signage helping to guide the customer. Regular promotions are run throughout the store and there is usually a selection of Bin End wines available at considerable discounts. To add some variety to the The Wine Company experience we hold Seasonal Local Producers' Markets on a number of Saturdays, with many of East Anglia’s most prestigious food producers exhibiting within our impressive Tasting Cellar. The dates of forthcoming Markets will be advertised on this website.

Shop opening hours:
Monday-Saturday, 9am-6pm
Sunday, 10am-4pm in December only
Closed all other Sundays and bank holidays

Hospitality and Events

We also hold an exciting programme of educational and fun wine tastings and dinners. Our events programme is constantly being updated and we offer a whole range of different wine tastings, dinners and wine events. Our venue is perfect for hospitality - both corporate and private customers can entertain their own clients or friends. Be it a relaxed and enjoyable, yet informative wine-tasting session to a bespoke lunch or dinner, with paired wines, selected for you by our experienced sales team.
